who knew?

March 28,1906,St.Francis Xavier Church 24th and Green St.has a huge fire which started in a Hat factory that was behind the Church-the walls and Steeple remained standing but there was extensive damage over $150,000 which was a ton of money in 1906--brave efforts by a Rev.Fleming to save things from the fire as it blazed--it was of course rebuilt later.
