"Who cares about Cape May? This is the Fairmount forum. Go post on that one. Tracy, you haven't lived here in 17 years, what makes you such an expert on what goes on in Fairmount. I still live here, and I haven't made a million posts about halloween. Seriously, who gives a rat's ass. Get a life."

Keep it on the sunday before, despite all the fun of going out on halloween, getting knifed or sucker punched over a bag of candy isn't worth it.

Thank God the person who wrote a reply to the "screaming liberal" was not a racist. He set forth a well thought out and aritculate response. If anyone knows what he was trying to say, or spell, let me know.

Several people are saying the same thing about Halloween, if you want a safe neighborhood, and you want your children to be able to walk the streets on Halloween night and feel that they are safe doing so, the burden is upon you to insure that it happens. In the 20 years before "safe Halloween" was established there was a handful of incidents. Now to hear people tell stories, it sounds like gangs walked up and down the streets with weapons attacking everyone. That simply never happened.

Take back our neighborhood, take back our streets, show our children that we are strong and do not back down from anyone. Celebrate Halloween on Halloween night, with everyone out with their children the way it should be.

We do not have a different day here in cape May for halloween, we all celebrate halloween on the same day. Whitesboro, Villas , north Cape May, west cape may , Wildwood, North wildwood, all the wildwoods, the whole area. The only difference is the times. In my area, trick or treating starts at 6pm-8pm, in the wildwoods it starts at 7pm-9pm, for the people who work. there are alot of halloween contests all over the different areas and they invite everyone from all over to participate. I have lived here for 17 years and we have never in that time had a seperate halloween from everyone else. there are kids who are dropped off in the area from different neighborhoods and we don't have problems because the parents are with them and the kids in our area are with their parents. The kids from all over know that the adults are presesnt and we have the attitude here as we did once ago in Fairmount and that is we do watch each others back. Remember that a majority of the people who live here now are people who originally grew up in Philly. i too get dressed up for halloween with the kids and decorate my house for the kids to enjoy. It is about the kids getting to be kids and showing off the costumes they choose to be. kids only have as much control as adults give them. you need to stop hiding and take the control back. Our kids here have a great time and it is safe and that is because we parents won't put up with the crap. I refuse to hide in my house or allow a few bad apples to take the fun out of being a kid for my kids.
