To the person inquiring about the VanOsten's, yes, Dennis has a brother Kenny , who lives in Naples Florida. No my Uncle doesn't live in fairmount anymore , he lives in New jersey . Dennis also has a brother Charles and he had a brother Richard who just passed 2 years ago and a brother Leigh also known as Buddy who passed away 8 years ago. His mother and father were Leigh and Rose Van Osten who lived on Judson street until they passed. My grandmother passed 8 years ago 0n Dec3 and my grandfather passed away 6 years on August 12. They were the greatest people in the world. All of them and they are all missed very much.

I understand the rationale behind giving out Halloween candy on a different night but it is still wrong and racist. I grew up in Fairmount and went around the neighborhood with my brothers and sisters every Halloween night. I witnessed the groups of what appeared to be bused in kids from outside the neighborhood and saw the fear that they caused. That, however, does not make it right to change the date. What message are you sending to your children? When there ia a problem, run and hide. Stand up and protect your neighborhood. Don't cowar behind the blinds with your lights off. The right thing to do is to have it on Halloween night and make sure that the parents get their butts off the couch and show a presence on our streets. Bad things will not happen if homeowners are sitting out on their front steps handing out candy while parents are walking around with their children. Halloween is about the children, keep it that way.

Real New Fairmounter, Halloween is about the kids. That is why it had to be changed.. It isnt about being tough guys/girls. it is about a safe and fun day for the kids. Stop making a big deal out of it, Safety first and that is what the Fairmount Halloween is about.

to the person complaining about halloween, that has been going on in fairmount for about 20 years now, if not more. They were always getting dropped off on the corners of Parrish street and then they would walk through in packs. That is when my grandparents stopped giving candy ouy for that reason. So the way to handle that is give it to the little ones early, because that's when they come out with their parents and then after the first hour turn off your lights in the living room and don't answer the door when you see them coming. If they don't get any candy they will stop coming around. For all you parents of fairmount kids, don't let your kids go out by themselves, then they won't get attacked. Go out in packs as well, their is safety in numbers.

Hi Joe Reilly, I remember the fairmount braves baseball team , your shirts were maroon too. I do believe that my Uncle Dennis Van Osten may have a picture of the team and he might have a picture of your dad's car. From the pictures my grandparents had. I will ask him and let you know for sure. Please tell your family that I said hello.

Poor guy A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"
